In 2021, the artist started to work on the “Old Sheet” series. 

The essence of this series was to work with only one material - fabric taken from old sheets. 

Tatiana changed the properties of the fabric, combining it with other media and achieving the textures and shapes she needed. The results of the work impressed her every time and inspired new experiments. These new artworks were no longer paintings in their traditional way - they were voluminous and looked like something in between a painting and a sculpture, or rather, a combination of these two.

Therefore, the artist began to create sculptures from fabric. She wanted to show how the material changes while she works with it, how it begins to live a new life, completely different from the previous one, how it changes both its functionality and its appearance. Almost none of the viewers of these artworks guessed textiles in them. Some seemed to be made of metal, others of plastic, and others of paper. This was the artist’s goal - the transformation of the material.

It inspired her incredibly.

 

Tatiana decided to start her series of sculptures with simple and understandable forms - flowers, gradually adding abstract sculptures. Although these flowers were abstract too. The whole creative process of the artist is focused on working with the material, the form is just something secondary, it is, in essence, not important. It is necessary only in the way that the "new", changed material can be fixed in its new existence. And since the material is physical, then the form becomes inevitable.
