Broken Lines is a dialogue of lines and shapes created by the artist based on two of her favorite techniques - multi-colored lines and the “Old Sheet” art series.

 

In 2021, the artist started to work on the “Old Sheet” series. 

The essence of this series was to work with only one material - fabric taken from old sheets. 

Tatiana changed the properties of the fabric, combining it with other media and achieving the textures and shapes she needed. The results of the work impressed her every time and inspired to new experiments. These new artworks were no longer paintings in their traditional way - they were voluminous and looked like something in between a painting and a sculpture, or rather, a combination of these two.

Then the artist adds to this technique her favorite colored lines.

The result exceeded all her expectations - the artwork became incredibly dynamic, it seemed being in constant motion. The lines now are not linear, as when they are painted on a flat surface, but broken. They flow over the surface of the sculptural form, they follow its curves, they break, connect with each other and flow into each other.

To the dynamism of form and color the artist added a new technique of processing fabric with resin, specially created by for this series.

Looking at the artwork, it is difficult to guess the fabric as the base material, but this is not necessary. The most important that all the artworks of this series are perceived in a holistic and harmonious way, putting dynamism at the forefront.
